S.M.A.R.T Goals

We've been practising writing S.M.A.R.T goals. We all set 5 goals.

1. A literacy goal
2. A maths goal
3. A social skill goal (Being Kind...)
4. A sport or exercise goal
5. Own choice

Looking at the slide above, which goal do you think is going to be the easiest to achieve!! (Your clue is green)

SMART goals are:

 Specific (Be exact)
 Measurable
Attainable (Sorry, no Olympics this year)
Realistic (No, you can't go to the moon yet...)
Timely (When do you want to achieve your goal by?)

Our delightful, diligent, dynamic and dazzling Mrs Deane

Yes, your children are always this beautifully behaved...

and there's probably a very good reason why someone is wearing their hat...

We struck gold with our pre-service teacher Mrs Deane. For those parents who haven't been introduced...here she is!
We are studying procedures so what could be better than a Banana Bread recipe?

How to make an awesome paddle boat

How to make an awesome paddle boat

You will need:

  • a carton
  • 2 kebab sticks
  • elastic bands
Method

1. Cut off the side of your boat with parent help.
2. Cut out a paddle with this piece of carton.
3. Pierce 2 small holes, 3-4 cm apart, in the stern (back) of the boat with parent help.
4. Push a kebab stick into each hole.
5. Stretch an elastic loosely around the kebab sticks.
6. Wind the paddle tightly in the elastic.
7. Lower your boat into water.

If you only have a small space to race your boat then try these:

You will need:
  • the side of a carton box
  • elastics
Method:

1. Cut a rectangle out of the carton.
2. Cut a 'roof' or triangle shape.
3. Cut a 'door'.
4. Cut this 'door' thinner and shorter.
5. Stretch an elastic loosely around the walls of the 'door'.
6. Wind a paddle tightly in the elastic.
7. Lower your boat into water.

Mystery reader

We all know who this mystery reader is!

Our lovely vivacious DP, Mrs B, popped in to read a book that is a must-read (even for adults)...

And the book that had us all spellbound:

The Short and Incredibly Happy Life of Riley.

Then we created recipes:

Read it and then...

Mothers' Day Craft- we love you Mum!

Hover your mouse over slide for captions.

Energy, innovation, a splash and spray with a toothbrush, an egg carton for printing (and surveillance from Emma, Kath, Tamara and Kylie) made for a fun-filled morning!

We love you too, Mum!

Mellow meadow...

Intriguing...

And two pics that needed to be photo-shopped to remove names and therefore missed being part of the slide show...

Jetski Addition Addiction

Look what Mr Walker at Room 7's blog has to say about this game:

"Just found this very cool, super fun, new maths game called Jetski Addition. You compete against 4 other jestskis for the prize! Every time you answer a correct addition problem, your jetski goes a little faster. The quicker you answer, the faster you go! The really cool thing is you can join a game, or start your own, and compete against other people around the world!
My first few games led me to my fastest time of 54.70. Can you beat that?
(be warned... it is so addicitive you won't want to stop!)"

Well, can you beat that?
